Madras is About Community of People Says Pa. Ranjith
Director Ranjith of Attakathi fame officially introduced his film recently and here’s an excerpt of what the director said -“Madras documents the life, interests and politics of the people in North Chennai. The film is not about just one man, it talks about a community of people.
Among them is an energetic young man, played by Karthi. There's not a single scene where he dominates.
In the whole movie, Karthi appears as a part of the society and its people.Karthi plays Kaali, an IT guy and being brought up in the city, Karthi is so fluent in his Chennai slang.
Catherine plays Kalai Arasi. The supporting cast involves a bunch of talented new faces. We have been very particular in maintaining rawness in the visuals to match the setting.
Shot mostly in real locations of North Chennai, we have canned the film in a lot of unexplored areas too.”
Composer Santosh Narayanan has scored five tracks including a death gana, which is speculated to turn into a rage.
Murali G debuts as cinematographer and Praveen KL has edited the film. Produced by Studio Green, the film is being planned for a July release.
